COVID Mythology, Self-deception, and DEATH via the “Majority of Experts”

Share:
King Ahab suffers a fatal wound in battle. Deceived by himself and hundreds of false prophets, he was deluded into thinking that he would survive — despite word from God Himself that he would not. Like Ahab, many get the COVID shot, thinking they will be fine despite hearing reports to the contrary, and suffer the consequences.

The Scamdemic is a vivid reminder that deception, even of ourselves, is endemic in a fallen world. Deception is dangerous, and so we must always on guard.

As sinners, we often resort to myths when any given truth conflicts with our desires. This is seen very clearly in Romans 1. Those who don’t want to believe in God pretend God doesn’t exist. Those who want to murder unborn babies pretend they are not human. Those who hate whites pretend whites are the cause of all evil in the world. And so on.

To further ingrain and justify the self-deception, people find “experts” and “fact checkers” to “legitimize” their position. For instance, regarding false teachers, Scripture says:

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. (2 Timothy 4: 3, 4, ESV).

And so in this case, people with “itching ears” look to “teachers to suit their own passions” – disregarding truth and turning to myths that reject the Gospel, leading to eternal damnation.

If people will embrace mythology to the peril of their eternal soul, then they’ll do so to the peril of this temporary life as well. Such is the blinding nature of sin – none of us are immune – where we will endanger ourselves physically to satisfy sinful desires.

Ahab goes to war — despite prophesy of his death

King Ahab gives us a clear example of how one will march to his death due to the blinding influence of self-deception and listening to fake experts – even when given proof in advance that his course is fatal.

In the Old Testament, Ahab, King of Israel, and Jehoshaphat, King of Judah, discuss an alliance to defeat Syria. After Jehoshaphat requested that they inquire of God, Ahab sought out around 400 false prophets, or “experts,” who “legitimized” going to battle:

For three years Syria and Israel continued without war.

But in the third year Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.

And the king of Israel said to his servants, “Do you know that Ramoth-gilead belongs to us, and we keep quiet and do not take it out of the hand of the king of Syria?”

And he said to Jehoshaphat, “Will you go with me to battle at Ramoth-gilead?” And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.”

And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “Inquire first for the word of the Lord.”

Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, “Shall I go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or shall I refrain?” And they said, “Go up, for the Lord will give it into the hand of the king.”

But Jehoshaphat said, “Is there not here another prophet of the Lord of whom we may inquire?”

And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the Lord, Micaiah the son of Imlah, but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but evil.” And Jehoshaphat said, “Let not the king say so.” (1 Kings 22:1-8)

Note that Ahab did not want to hear from Micaiah, a true prophet of God, because he spoke the truth. Ahab’s desire for deception blinded him. Micaiah warns Ahab:

And he said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. And the Lord said, ‘These have no master; let each return to his home in peace.’” And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Did I not tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?” (1 Kings 22:17, 18)

Ahab disregards Micaiah, and dies in combat. The battle was in vain. Despite an infallible warning from God Himself, Ahab, in his sinful pride, said he would return alive (1 Kings 22:27). His self-deception was his undoing.

Ahab’s fake “experts” could not save him. They were all deluded by a lying spirit. Micaiah even exposed them as frauds right before Ahab, but Ahab would not listen. As Micaiah tells Ahab:

Now therefore behold, the Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets; the Lord has declared disaster for you. (1 Kings 22:23)

The Scamdemic’s “majority of experts” as murderers

Think now of today regarding the Scamdemic. We have all of these “experts,” bought and paid for, who vomit the same lying, false narratives about COVID and measures to “end” the “crisis”. There are many — just as there were many “experts” who deceived Ahab. They work to suppress the truth about safe and effective remedies for COVID, as well as about countless reports of deaths and injuries due to the COVID shot.

They would rather you die than oppose their malevolent program. And die many have — by listening to their lying counsel. These “experts” are like the religious teachers in the time of Christ, who only cared about themselves — and were ready to persecute and murder those who defied them.

Deadly self-deception

Let us be clear: there may be some who believe the Scamdemic simply because they don’t have enough information. But, there are others who are self deceived: those who simply want to believe the Scamdemic is real, and that the measures being taken (masks, vaccination, etc.) are legitimate and moral.

Whatever the blinding influence might be: idolatry, the praise of man, money, etc., it doesn’t matter how much evidence you give disproving their delusion. They have chosen to defer to “the majority of experts” (lying counselors in the media, government, the medical establishment, etc.) to validate their suicidal course.

They blindly inject themselves with lethal poison via the COVID shot even after being shown reports that it causes injury and death. Such proof that it is far from safe doesn’t phase them. Nor does the fact that those promoting it have, like Ahab’s counselors, been discredited as promoters of falsehoods.

Scripture forbids us from putting the Lord to the test (Matthew 4:7). But like Ahab, they disregard the clear threat to their lives and imagine safety. True reality – God’s reality of cause and effect – is ignored. There is no Berean Spirit to seriously search out the truth. God’s command to not murder (including oneself) is disobeyed. All that is left is a covenant with death. Self-deception is deadly. Avoid it!

On hope and duty

Note that while many may seem incorrigible regarding the Scamdemic, there is always hope. God can soften the heart of even the most blind. Our job, as Christians, is to, as wisely as possible, work to deliver as many as possible from the clutches of death.

Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. (Proverbs 24:11, ESV)
